OU 2024 Agenda

By the end of the congress, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize obesity is a chronic disease that has multiple comorbidities and can occur across the lifespan
  • Understand the underlying neurotransmitter and thermogenic adaptations that play a role in obesity
  • Review the various pharmacological agents approved for the management of obesity and when to use them
  • Examine the role of nutrition and behavioural therapy in obesity management
  • Understand the potential role of bariatric surgery and identify strategies to manage patient expectations
  • Explore physician and patient perspectives on aspects of obesity management, including stigma and language, differing priorities, and weight plateau or regain
